Welcome to Nerd Nite Wayzata!

Our story goes like this:

The Thinking Spot, your friendly neighborhood STEM bookstore, located in Wayzata, Minnesota, decided to start up a monthly casual learning series and called it Nerd Nights! The official bosses of Nerd Nite (note the spelling difference) got wind of it and sent a cease and desist order since there already is a Nerd Nite Twin Cities (ok that’s a stretch, they very nicely asked if I would change the name). TLDR; we decided to join in and create a Nerd Nite location for the western Twin Cities suburbs and voila  – Nerd Nite Wayzata – was born! 

Typically Nerd Nites are hosted at a bar and there is drinking involved, which admittedly enhances the fun! So, does Nerd Nite Wayzata involve drinking? Sadly, no! Why? Because The Thinking Spot is not licensed to sell alcohol. But, we do provide canned drinks and water/coffee/tea to get you relaxed (or excited). And we are not opposed to an occasional band, trivia night, game night, or other shenanigans!

What is the format?

Think TED talks – but more casual. Fun – but informative! 3 speakers, 20 mins each on a Thursday evening.
